Do you have community news you'd like us to air on KQSS? We'd love to help. But there are some rules:
1. You must be a bona fide community service provider. This includes government agencies and charitable organizations that do not charge a fee for services (with one exception-- it's OK to charge a reasonable fee, if 100% of the gross proceeds are going to an established charity). Non-profit status alone is not enough to qualify.
2. Email radio@kqss.net with all the information you want us to share.
Make sure you tell us who, what, when, where and why, plus contact info. For example:
"St. Nobody's Church is having a dinner and dance on Tuesday, February 14th, 6 PM, at the church hall, on 13 Main Street in Globe. Tickets are $50, and all proceeds benefit the Homeless Organization of Gila County. For more information contact Shirley at the church, phone 928-555-7825."
3. Get it to us at least a week in advance. Anything sooner, we may not see in time to help.
4. Do not include recorded material. (Recorded material is generally provided by national entities, in hopes that unsold time will be available to easily air their messages. KQSS does not have "unsold time". Commercial messages are standalone featured items, so listeners actually hear them. We do not have clusters to fill. All the PSA's we air are done in house, often live in local newscasts.)
5. Public Service Announcements (PSAs) are a community service and we air them for free!...
...but there is one major exception:
If you are paying one of our competitors to carry your message, you must also pay us if you want coverage on KQSS. Radio is free for you to enjoy because it is advertiser supported. Radio's competition includes print (newspapers, magazines and direct mail), broadcast (radio and television), and digital (anything you pay to put online).
6. If you are fortunate enough to have the budget to buy coverage elsewhere (or are ordered to do so, such as print notices required by grants), we will work with you to make it very affordable to advertise on KQSS. (Don't worry, you will not have to pay for each time the information airs. We'll make sure you get a lot more for your advertising dollar than that!)
